What's New
We are open during the COVID-19 Stage 4 lockdown
We will continue to trade during the COVID-19 Stage 4 lockdown.
During the Stage 4 lockdown you are allowed to travel more than 5 kilometres to get tyres or your motorcycle serviced if you can not source these tyres or services closer to home.
For the duration of this lockdown period we will be also offering a pickup/dropoff service within 30 kilometers of the shop for bikes that need tyres or servicing. This pickup/dropoff service will cost $10 each way (note: some bikes will not be able to have this service so please contact the shop to discuss).
To ensure we can continue to meet your tyre and servicing needs in a safe manner for you and our staff, we have implemented the following;
- Please ring and order your tyres or service in advance so we can best serve you - we will not be accepting unannounced customers.
- We would prefer that you stay outside the workshop.
- If you do need to enter the workshop, you will need to enter your details into a customer logbook, you will have your temperature checked, you will need to wear a facemask, you will be required to respect social distancing and you will need to sanitise your hands on entering and leaving the workshop with the sanitiser provided.
- If you are sick or have any symptoms we request you do not attend the workshop.
Due to social distancing requirements only one bike for tyres will be allowed in the workshop at a time. Bikes worked on will be wiped with anti-bacterial cloths on the grips and normal touched surfaces prior to being returned to you.
At this time, we will be asking for card transactions instead of cash, but if you can only pay by cash we will accept it.
We ask that during this time to have some patience and respect for our staff and other customers.

Where do your old motorcycle tyres go?
Did you know that every year the equivalent of 48 million tyres reach the end of their life in Australia? However only about 16% of these tyres are domestically recycled. The remaining used tyres end up in landfill, are stockpiled, illegally dumped, exported overseas or have an unknown fate.
Did you know that Stawell in Victoria is home to one of the world's largest tyre dumps? Not really an achievement to be proud of and certainly not something we expect to see on anyone's

Pressuring Washing and Wheel Bearings don't mix!
Keeping your motorbike clean is an important part of maintaining your ride. Removing all the grime, bugs and mud off your motorbike gives you the opportunity to check that nothing is broken, no screws or nuts are missing or there are no leaks.
But before you take that pressure hose to you motorbike to blast off all that dirt, pause for a second. Pressure washing areas where there are seals can cause water and dirt to build up in these areas resulting in rust and bearing wear.

Tyre Wear Guide
We came across this website (http://biketrackdayshub.com) with some great information on Track Days with a specific section on Tyres. This is an English website so some of the measurements are not metric and not all products on this website are available in Australia, however the general tyre information is a worthwhile read.
You can click on the link above to read more on Race Track Tyre wear if you would like to read this section. If you are thinking of starting to do track days or road racing this website has some great information.
